Half Double Crochet (hdc)

This is the instructions for the Half Double Crochet and the abbreviation is hdc.

The half double crochet (hdc) can be used to provide shaping in your patterns.

Step 1. Yarn over and insert your hook into the work in the third stitch from the hook as in the first picture.

Step 2. This picture shows * Yarn over and pull the hook through the work loop only as the arrow indicates.

Step 3. Yarn over again and pull the hook through all the loops on the hook as shown in this picture.

Step 4. This picture shows the Half Double Crochet completed. To continue by yarn over and insert hook into next stitch and repeat from * in Step 2.
